About the Author: | James Tidwell is a professor of journalism at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Ill. Professor Tidwell, who is an attorney, teaches Communication Law at EIU and serves as legal adviser to the university's daily student newspaper and its yearbook. He also directs the journalism department's outreach programs to Illinois high school journalism and publication programs and serves as executive secretary for the Illinois Journalism Education Association. Professor Tidwell has published numerous articles on legal topics in the Journal of Law and Education, the Journal of Family Law, the NASSP Bulletin, Newspaper Marketing, College Media Review, Illinois Publisher, and J Communique. He has a B.A. with honors in journalism and government from Oklahoma Baptist University, an M.A. in journalism from the University of Oklahoma, and a Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Louisville. |
